The Magic, for me, happens during the process when the painting speaks on its own. There comes a time when I look at the painting from afar and the emotion shows through the face. White and black lines create an optical impression and these affective powers cause the emotion to come to the surface when placed against a solid black background. The outer physical reality of the painting gives way to the inner emotional reality.
The human face speaks for itself.
