Jared Davis was born in New York City and raised in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado. He has spent the last 15 years working with blown glass. In 1995, Davis was introduced to Swedish glass masters, Jan-Erik Ritzman and Sven Åke Carlsson, who invited Davis to study with them in Transjö, Sweden, for two years. Prior to his trip to Sweden, in the winter of 1996, Davis studied Italian style glass blowing and glass sculpting at The Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle, Washington.

In 1998 Davis then returned to Crawford, Colorado with his family to become an active glass blower and designer for K Dahl Glass Studios. In 2001 Jared & his beautiful wife, Nicole, started their own business, Davis Glass and in 2006 opened the doors of their new studio & Gallery, "North Rim Glass Studio,LLC".

Jared's newest designs are a close up inspection of the colors, patterns and formations found in nature.  Most pieces include multiple layers of color which are applied and munipulated during the blowing process. The final finish is then created by sandblasting the piece after it has cooled.

Jared's work has significantly grown throughout the years. His application of color and creation of form result in one of a kind works of art with a unique recognizable design.

My current body of work is representative and inspired from the aspects of the desert southwest;  colors, patterns and formations.  The fragile grandeur of the desert southwest, to me, is like an open book, allowing a close up inspection of the forces of creation.  Most of the time we are blind to these forces and only in catastrophic events are we privy to the unfolding of our landscape, but the desert exposes its self to us so that we can read the landscapes of times past.
